Occupational Health: The Value Proposition
October 25, 2017 (Wed)  17:00  Europe/London

Paul is the author of this recent report. Over his career he has worked with the RAF, ICI and P&G, ending his career as Associate Medical Director Global Medical Operations. He was assistant editor of Occupational Medicine, President of the Society of Occupational Medicine, Chair of two BOHRF research groups, and Chair of the BMA Occupational Medicine Committee, being awarded an OBE for services to occupational medicine in 2006.

Paul will discuss problems with economic evaluation studies and lack of access by workers to OHS, a situation likely to worsen unless value is communicated, and provide an overview of the best evidence in health and safety, ergonomics and health promotion.

After attending the webinar attendees should be able to understand how OHS can add most value, and when to consider suggesting referral to or involvement of OHS in managing a case or complex workplace issue. Attendees should also gain an understanding of the broad business case not limited to ‘cost-benefit’ and the elements of a value proposition, which may help to market their own expertise.
