Volunteering: How Ergonomists can play an important role in ensuring E/HF can make an impact on wider society. Share with Friends
March 14, 2018 (Wed)  17:00  Europe/London

In this webinar Tom will discuss his role as a volunteer both as a trustee and committee member and in particular of his involvement with organisations like the Council for Work & Health and the British Standards Institution (BSI Group). Tom currently chairs the BSI Applied Ergonomics Committee.

In addition to mainstream standards work the BSI Group pioneered the PAS (Publicly Available Specification) format. A British Standard and a PAS must reach full consensus between all stakeholders on technical content. The timescale for the development of a PAS is typically around 8 months, one reason why PAS is often referred to as a 'fast-track' standard.

CIEHF actively supports and encourages members to take part in volunteering activities. This webinar aims to provide an insight into this key role, and to encourage members to consider volunteering in the future.
